The Rockmen are a fictional alien race featured in the ThunderCats multimedia franchise. They made two appearances in the original ThunderCats series from 1985. They first appeared in "Return of the Driller" and they also appeared in "Mechanical Plague".
Description[]
The Rockmen are a quasi-sentient race that hails from the futuristic reality of Third Earth. Very little is known about the Rockmen and their culture, save that they are beings comprised entirely of stone and are immensely strong. Mumm-Ra summoned the Rockmen to attack the ThunderCats. Perched at the top of a canyon, the Rockmen began hurling giant boulders down upon Cheetara, but she was swift enough to avoid them. [1]
Notes & Trivia[]
- Scenes of the Rockmen from "Return of the Driller" were recycled for "Mechanical Plague".
- Another species of sentient rock people are the Kronans, who appear in comic books published by Marvel Comics. They first appeared in Journey Into Myster #83 in 1962 are known to give Thor a hard time.
