Sunspot is the code name for a fictional mutant superhero featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. His real name is Roberto da Costa and he is part of the mainstream Marvel Universe. He is most classically associated with the team of young heroes known as the New Mutants.
Abilities[]
- Superhuman durability: Sunspot has enhanced durability under very specific instances only. His increased durability acts in proportion to his enhanced strength, but otherwise, he is just as vulnerable to attack as any other person.
- Superhuman strength: Sunspot is a veritable power-house able to exert pressure far in excess of a normal human being.
- Thermal propulsion: Sunspot can fly by way of thermal propulsion by absorbing ultraviolet radiation.
- Thermokinesis: Sunspot can projects blasts of concentrated dark solar radiation, which has an effect similar to that of a heat blast.
