Ridley Scott is an Oscar nominated British film director and producer. He is best known for directing the 1979 sci-fi/horror film Alien for which he won the 1980 Saturn Award for Best Director. In 2003, a special "Director's Cut" of Alien was released and Scott appeared on the DVD special editions to introduce the recut version of the film. Scott's second sci-fi feature, Blade Runner, was likewise nominated for the Best Director category at the 1983 Saturn Awards. In 2007, Ridley Scott released "Blade Runner: The Final Cut", digitally remastered with improved visual and sound effects, and with numerous revisions to the 1992 Director's Cut.
