Richard Keith Berman is a television producer born in New York City, New York on December 25th, 1945. Berman is best known for his work on the revival Star Trek projects of the 1980s and 1990s, beginning with the first spin-off series Star Trek: The Next Generation. He began as a supervising producer on NextGen and eventually became an executive producer and head of the franchise following the death of series creator Gene Roddenberry in October of 1991. Berman then went on to create three more spin-off projects, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise, which he co-created with Brannon Braga. Berman also produced four of the Star Trek feature films, all of which involved the cast and crew of Star Trek: Next Generation. In 2006, Rick Berman left the Star Trek franchise to pursue other projects.
