Richie Castle is a fictional child, and am minor character featured in the Halloween film series. Played by actor Mickey Yablans, he made a brief appearance in the 1978 film, Halloween by director John Carpenter.
Biography[]
Richie lived in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois and attended Haddonfield Elementary School. He was friends with a boy named Lonnie Elamb, and another boy named Keith. Richie was a bully, who enjoyed antagonizing smaller students like Tommy Doyle. Along with Lonnie and Keith, Richie tormented poor Tommy on October 31st, 1978. They made fun of the fact that Tommy was carrying a pumpkin around and tried to scare him with taunts of the "Boogey Man", chanting, "He's going to get you!"
After leaving school, Richie had a chance encounter with the true Boogey Man, Michael Myers. He ran directly into Myers' path and the man took hold of him by the arms, but allowed him to go free.

- The character of Richie Castle was created by writer and director John Carpenter.
- Scenes of Richie, Lonnie and Keith skulking about the Myers house was edited into the Terror in the Aisles film documentary in 1984.
- In the original film, the character is only identified as Richie. He is not given a surname until his appearance in the comic book, Halloween II #1 by Chaos Comics.
- It is possible that Richie Castle's surname may have been taken from Nick Castle, who played the role of The Shape, aka Michael Myers.
- Richie Castle is the first resident of Haddonfield to encounter the adult Michael Myers.
- Of the three bullies who antagonized Tommy Doyle, Richie Castle was the shortest.
- Actor Mickey Yablans is also known for playing a buddy in a locker room in the movie, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master .
