Biography[]
Richard S. Ross was a middle-aged caucasian male who worked as a psychiatrist at the Carlton State Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He had a secretary named Betty Churchill and worked alongside a parapsychologist named Curry. Richard Ross did not put a lot of stock into Curry's theories and admonished him for encouraging the perceived delusions of mental patient Karen Barclay, who claimed that a possessed doll named Chucky tried to kill her son and she.
Doctor Ross quickly discovered the truth behind Karen's words, however. Chucky had sneaked into the hospital in disguise and surprised Richard. He punched him in the crotched, which caused him to instantly vomited, then leapt upon him and stabbed him in the forehead with a knife. Karen Barclay was the one who discovered the body. [2]
Because there were no witnesses to the crime, Karen was accused of murdering Doctor Ross, and ultimately went on trial. Presumably, she was exonerated, as Chucky's murder spree continued to grow.
