Doctor Richard Occult is a fictional occult investigator and mystic featured in comic books published by DC Comics. He was introduced in New Fun Comics #6 in October, 1935, making him the first character in what would eventually become the greater DC Universe. Doctor Occult's introduction predates the first appearance of Superman by nearly three years.
