Synopsis[]

"Looks like we've got ourselves a sticky situation here, don't we?"
Rumors begin to circulate across ABS (Ape Broadcasting System) of a crashed space vessel allegedly piloted by intelligent, highly advanced humans. Doctor Zaius calls for an emergency council of the Ape congress to discuss these rumors. At the behest of General Urko, it is decided that Zaius must personally lead an expedition to the Forbidden Zone to determine the truth behind these claims.
Zira and Cornelius send reflected mirror signals to Bill Hudson and Jeff Allen, warning them of trouble. When the humans meet up with their chimpanzee allies, they learn their ship is in danger of discovery. Bill and Jeff tax Nova with leading them to the Forbidden Zone so they can address the issue before the apes arrive.

Jeff & Bill reach the capsule.
Zaius, Urko and a gorilla army drive out to the Forbidden Zone where they encounter the illusions that they generally associate with this region. The illusions distract them long enough for Bill and Jeff to dive into the lagoon where their ship lies and take whatever emergency materials are needed. They then plant a self-destruct sequence and flee. However, they are chased by a slumbering sea serpent that was awakened by the explosion. Bill is trapped, so Jeff dives back into the lagoon to help rescue him.
As the ape army converges on the lagoon, they see the massive sea serpent emerge from the lagoon. It dives back underwater, completely ignoring the apes. However, it is enough to convince Zaius that no space vessel or intelligent humanoids could possibly survive any time in a lagoon that is also occupied by such a creature. Returning to Ape City, Zaius addresses the council once again and assures them that the Planet of the Apes has nothing to fear from humans.
