Return to House on Haunted Hill is an American feature film of the horror genre with an emphasis on the haunted house subgenre. It was directed by Victor Garcia with a script written by William Massa. It was presented by Warner Bros. and produced by Dark Castle Entertainment. It premiered in Australia on October 3rd, 2007. It was screened at the Sitges - Catalonian International Film Festival on October 9th, 2007. In the United States, it was released direct-to-video on October 16th, 2007. The film is a direct sequel to the 1999 remake movie House on Haunted Hill.

- Production on Return to House on Haunted Hill began on September 11th, 2006. The movie was shot in Bulgaria to save on production costs.
- The events of this film take place eight years after the events of House on Haunted Hill.
- Sara Wolfe and Doctor Vannacutt are the only characters from House on Haunted Hill to return for the sequel. Sara Wolfe appears as a ghost only. In the first film she was played by actress Ali Larter. In this film she is played by actress Stilyana Mitkova, which is her feature film debut. Actor Jeffrey Combs is the only actor to appear in both films.
- Actress Amanda Righetti is also known for starring in another horror classic remake. She played Whitney Miller, sister of Clay Miller and "Final Girl" in the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th by director Marcus Nispel.
- Harue being seduced by an attractive naked ghost who suddenly turns hideous is similar to a scene from The Shining wherein the character of Jack Torrance is seduced by the ghost of Lorraine Massey in Room 237.
- There is an after-credit scene which features a couple on the beach, who discover the Baphomet Idol buried in the sand. This scene is featured on the Blu-ray release only.
- This film marks the directorial debut of Victor Garcia. He will go on to direct all five segments of the 30 Days of Night: Blood Trails mini-series, as well as the 2011 film Hellraiser: Revelations.
- This is the first, and to date, only known writing work for William Massa.
Body Count[]
This list does not include the ghosts of the asylum, who died many years prior to the events of this film. There are nine fatalities in this film in total, eight of home died at the asylum. Three of them were female victims, leaving six male victims.
- Sara Wolfe - Shot in the head by Desmond (off-screen) and made to look like a suicide.
- Warren - Impaled in the abdomen by ghost fingers then bent backwards and pulled into a wall.
- Harue - Face sliced off with a scalpel by Vannacutt ghost.
- Norris Boz - Drawn & quartered with sheets then dismembered.
- Samuel - Carted off in wheelchair by ghost nurse. Dies off-screen.
- Kyle - Drowned by ghosts in hydrotherapy pool.
- Michelle - Killed by Vannacutt who TK drops a refrigerator on her head.
- Desmond Niles - Trapped in crematorium by ghosts and burned alive.
- Richard Hammer - Head bashed against wall repeatedly by Vannacutt.
