Return of the Fly is an American feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It is a sequel to the 1958 film The Fly and deals with the "science runs amok" film trope. It was directed by Edward L. Bernds with a screenplay written by Bernds based on concepts developed by George Langelaan. It was produced by the Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation and premiered in the United States on July 22nd, 1959. This movie was followed by a sequel, which was called Curse of the Fly, which was directed by Don Sharp and released in May, 1965.

Story Notes[]
- The events of this film take place fifteen years after the events of The Fly. Assuming that the first film takes place in the same year in which it was released, that would make the events of Return of the Fly happening in the year 1973. Conversely, it could be argued that the events of the first film take place in 1944, thus maintaining the fifteen-year gap between installments.
- Helene Delambre from the original film, is revealed to have died just prior to the events of the movie. The film opens with her funeral.
