Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is a video game of survival horror and is part of the greater Resident Evil multimedia franchise. The game was first announced by Capcom for the Nintendo 3DS at the 2010 Nintendo conference in Japan and was first released on June 2nd, 2011. The game was directed by Koushi Nakanishi and produced by Masachika Kawata. It is essentially a blend of the "The Mercenaries" mini-games previously featured in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, in which players must defeat as many enemies as possible within a set time limit in order to achieve the highest score, while also adding new features.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries features the voice talents of Roger Craig Smith as Chris Redfield, Patricia Lee as Jill Valentine, Stephanie Sheh as Rebecca Chambers, Alyson Court as Claire Redfield, Jamieson Price as Barry Burton, James Ward as Jack Krauser, and DC Douglas as Albert Wesker.
