Reedsville is a rural community in upstate New York. More than ten years ago, the Visitor known as John May came to Reedsville after deciding that he would rather live with humans than with his own kind. He took a wife and lived with his young stepson James. During this time, John May actively rebelled against the Visitors and formed a resistance cell known as the Fifth Column. He was careful not to reveal his true nature to his wife and stepson and kept all of his equipment relating to the Fifth Column inside a storage facility. When the Visitors learned where John was hiding, they sent Ryan Nichols to Earth to sanction him. John survived their first encounter, but Ryan returned to his home a year later whereupon he killed him.
In 2009, Ryan, now a member of the resistance himself, returned to Reedsville along with fellow resistance members Erica Evans, Jack Landry and Kyle Hobbes to find a communications device that once belonged to John May. They met John's stepson James who was now an adult and living in the house with his new girlfriend Grace. Erica and Kyle quickly determined that Grace was a Visitor spy and a fight ensued. Kyle killed Grace and James learned about her alien origins. They brought James to his stepfather's storage facility where they found the com device they had been searching for. A Visitor seeker drone tracked them down and tried to execute them, but Erica shot the flying weapon out of the air with her sidearm. [1]
