The characters and settings featured in the world of Archie Comics were created by John L. Goldwater and artist Bob Montana. The main character from the franchise, Archie Andrews, first appeared in Pep Comics #22 in December, 1941. The teens of Riverdale have appeared in numerous formats including a radio series, several animated projects, numerous comic books, as well as an adult-themed live-action television series on the CW Network called Riverdale.
