Red Sonja is an American ongoing comic book series of the Sword & Sorcery subgenre of fantasy. It was published by Marvel Comics and ran from January, 1977 to May, 1979, spanning a total of fifteen issues. The series stars Red Sonja - a fire-haired barbarian inspired by a character developed by Robert E. Howard.

- Red Sonja was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Barry Windsor-Smith and made her first appearance in Conan the Barbarian #23 in February, 1973. She appeared in a series of short-lived titles in the 1980s, was featured in a Red Sonja live-action movie in 1985, and was later resurrected in a growing family of comic book titles published by Dynamite Entertainment.
