The Recreator is a fictional item featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. It is associated with the Avengers line of titles and first appeared in the first story from Journey Into Mystery #105 in June, 1964 called "The Cobra and Mr. Hyde!"
Description[]
The Recreator, also known as a time reversal ray, is a high-tech item that could generate images depicting past events which the person or persons targeted had enacted. It was created by Calvin Zabo, also known as Mister Hyde.
History[]
Calvin Zabo used the time reversal ray to pick up images of the recent past. He demonstrated the process on Cobra, showing him images from ten seconds ago. Zabo's intent was to use it on Thor, so he could back-trace the Asgardian's steps to determine where he resided.
After having left his team for a brief period, Captain America returned to Avengers mansion and found that his teammates, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch had gone missing. He used the Recreator to generate images of the recent past and determined that they had been captured by the futuristic conqueror known as Kang.
