Reanimates | |
Body type: | Humanoid |
Reanimates are individuals who have died and have since been resurrected in physical form. They are very similar to zombies in this regard, but for one notable difference: Reanimates still possess a living soul, and they maintain their personality and intellect following their resurrection.
The most notable reanimate featured in horror fiction is the Frankenstein Monster, who is the product of scientific experimentation by Doctor Victor Frankenstein. Sewn together with body parts of the recently deceased, the Frankenstein Monster was brought to life using an unidentified chemical process. Many interpretations of the Frankenstein story show him being brought to life via electrical discharges; specifically, when the inert body is struck by a bolt of lightning.
