Ratchet is a fictional robot character featured in the Transformers multimedia franchise. He was introduced as one of the Generation 1 character on the original 1984-1987 animated TV series The Transformers. The character was voiced by Don Messick.
Overview[]
Ratchet is a robot and a member of the Autobots. He was one of the first generation of Transformers to come to Earth aboard the Ark over four million years ago. His guise on Earth is that of an ambulance. Ratchet is a healer and serves as the Chief Medical Officer/Mechanic of the Autobots. Because of his talents for effecting quick repairs on damaged Autobots, Ratchet often finds himself fighting on the front lines of combat against their arch-foes the Decepticons. Ratchet commonly worked alongside the resident inventor, Wheeljack.
