Raptor is an American science fiction/horror film of the "creature feature" variety. it was directed by Jim Wynorski and written by Wynorski, Frances Doel and Michael B. Druxman. It was produced by Concorde Pictures and released direct-to-video on November 6th, 2001. The film stars Eric Roberts and Sheriff Jim Tanner, Corbin Bernsen as Doctor Hyde and Melissa Brasselle as Barbara Phillips.
Raptor has received generally unfavorable reviews from viewers and critics. It holds a 19% Rotten rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer and has a 2.6 star rating on the Internet Movie Database.
Director Jim Wynorski is credited as Jay Andrews for this film. This is but one of nearly a dozen pseudonyms that the director has used over the years.
This is the second sci-fi/adventure film written by Frances Doel. She also wrote the script for Deathsport back in 1978. Her future projects include DinoCroc, Supergator and Dinoshark.
Raptor incorporates a lot of stock footage from the Carnosaur film series, and as such, is considered an unofficial sequel to Carnosaur 3: Primal Species.
