The Rand Ecliptic is a fictional space ship featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. The ship was first referenced in a cut scene from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, in which Biggs Darklighter has a conversation with Luke Skywalker.
Description[]
The Rand Ecliptic was an Imperial II-class frigate in service to the First Galactic Empire during the years of the Galactic Civil War.
Biggs Darklighter was stationed aboard the Rand Ecliptic before defecting from the Empire. Derek Klivian also served aboard the Rand Ecliptic. Like Biggs, he too defected from the Empire and joined the Rebel Alliance.
