History[]
The Rainier residence, later known as the Garza residence, was located at 414 Appletree Road in Five Keys, New Mexico. In 1953, the head of the household was Gerald Rainier, who worked as a prison guard at Dewbend State Penitentiary. He was married to Audrey Rainier, and had two children, Elise and Christian. Since she was a little girl, Elise Rainier had the ability to perceive and talk to ghosts. She claimed that there were numerous ghosts haunting their home, at least one of which, took on the visage of a small child. While Audrey was protective of Elise's gift, Gerald was fearful of it, and flew into a violent rage, whenever Elise had a "visitation".
On the night that Wayne Fisher was executed, Elise saw a ghost child in her bedroom. Gerald reacted poorly to this, and beat Elise with a wooden cane and locked her in the basement. While trapped in the basement, Elise was briefly possessed by the KeyDemon, who used his demonic power to murder Audrey Rainier by hanging her with a power cable from the ceiling.
Years later in 2010, the KeyDemon, now influencing Ted Garza, lured Elise back to the family home. Elise was stunned to find that most of the family's personal affects including furniture, keepsakes and children's toys, had remained intact even after all these years of abandonment. The KeyDemon used Ted Garza in an effort to kill Elise, but was stopped by her partner, Steven "Specs" Fisher.
