Rachel Manning is a fictional high school student turned Deadite, and a minor antagonist in the Evil Dead franchise. She is associated with the Ash vs Evil Dead television series on Starz and made a single appearance in the season three premiere, "Family". She was played by actress Ellie Gall.
Biography[]
Rachel Manning was a teenage student at Kenward High School and close friends with Brandy Barr. Rachel was something of a trouble maker and Brandy and she had to serve detention by cleaning graffiti off of lockers. While the two worked, they took note of the high school's mascot, Cougie, who was standing menacingly at the end of the hall. Rachel and Brandy made some dismissive comments in Cougie's direction, and Rachel called him an "asshole". Cougie approached them, whereupon blood began pouring out of the holes in his costume, spreading out into a massive puddle onto the floor. Rachel and Brandy fled from Cougie and sought to hide inside one of the school's music rooms.
Ash Williams, Pablo Simon Bolivar and Brandy's mother, Candace Barr, showed up at the school, as Ash knew that there might be Deadite shenanigans at play. Rachel became possessed by an evil spirit and transformed into a Deadite. She began using musical instruments as weapons against Ash, some of which began animating by themselves. Rachel threw a cymbal, which beheaded Candace Barr right before her daughter's eyes.
After destroying a floating trumpet, Ash grabbed a harp and pounced on Rachel with it, pressing the strings of the instrument against her face. He then jumped onto the harp, driving the strings through her flesh, splitting her head into thin vertical pieces. [1]

- The character of Rachel Manning was created by director Mark Beesley and writer Mark Verheiden based on concepts developed by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy.
- Rachel Manning is the second Deadite to appear in season three of Ash vs Evil Dead. The first was Cougie. She is the third character to die in season three after Candace Barr.
