DC Universe[]
Vertigo[]
Rachel was a young English woman from the East Croydon section of London. In her youth, she was romantically tied to the magic user John Constantine. John had come into possession of the Sandman's pouch, which contained the mystical sand of the immortal Lord of Dreams known as Morpheus. Unable to open it, John forgot about it, and left it in Rachel's care. Rachel eventually found a means to open it, but the intoxicating effect of the sand had a harrowing affect upon her, causing her to rot away into a withered old husk. When John and Morpheus came to Rachel's house to reclaim the bag, Morpheus used his sorcery to put her out of her misery. (Sandman Vol 2 3)
Scream[]
Stab[]
Rachel and her friend Chloe were sitting in a house watching the beginning of the horror movie Stab 6. Rachel paused the film after the cold open whereupon she began exhibiting harsh reactions, declaring that they were watching the "death of horror" unfold right before their eyes. Chloe, however, had a different approach to the film and supported the entertainment value of the Stab films. Rachel was unrelenting in her opinion however and continued to admonish the movie.
The Walking Dead[]
Rachel was a young girl who was a resident at the Oceanside Cabin Motor Court. Little is known about her, save that her parents were likely murdered by the Saviors along with all of the other male members of the Oceanside community. Because of this, Oceanside leader, Natania, enforced strict "stranger danger" protocols, which required all non-residents to be killed on-sight. Rachel and an older woman named Cyndie were combing the beach where they discovered a teddy bear. Cyndie told Rachel that they might be able to repair it. Rachel found a walker half buried in the sand and impaled it with a makeshift spear. She then found another body washed up on the shore and was prepared to stab it when Cyndie stopped her. This was an unconscious Tara Chambler. Rachel was adamant about killing her, but Cyndie stopped her. Later, when Tara was trying to escape from the armed women of Oceanside, Rachel got the drop on her and held her at gunpoint. Natania eventually let Tara leave the community, though she intended on having her killed out in the woods. As she was being escorted out of Oceanside, Rachel spat on the ground in contempt. Tara smiled, said "good-bye" to Rachel and then gave her the finger. (Walking Dead: Swear) Tara returned to Oceanside some weeks later, and Rachel was not at all thrilled to see her. Moreover, Tara brought along the full complement of her group. As it turned out, Tara's people had to fight side-by-side with the Oceansiders as a herd of barnacle walkers made their way inland. Rachel savagely leaped upon one of the zombies and stabbed it in the head. As Tara and her group were leaving, Rachel asked if they were going to leave them any weapons to defend themselves. Tara told her "no' and gave her the finger, just as she did the last time she left Oceanside. (Walking Dead: Something They Need)
