Raccoons are mammals that are indigenous to North America. They are small, hairy scavengers with black and white fur. They are characterized by black markings around their eyes, which makes it appear as if they are wearing a mask.
There are also some alien races from other worlds whose physical appearance bears a strong resemblance to a raccoon. One such example is Rocket, or as some would call him, Rocket Raccoon, who is a genetically modified member of an animal species similar to a raccoon.
