Notes & Trivia[]
- The character of Queequeg was created by franchise developer George Lucas, director Richard Marquand and writer Lawrence Kasdan.
- Preferred weapon of choice: Vibro-ax.
- The name Queequeg is taken from a fictional character presented in the 1851 novel Moby-Dick by American author Herman Melville. He is the first principal character encountered by the narrator and serves as the chief harpooner aboard the Pequod.
- Queequeg is also the name of a Pomeranian dog owned by The X-Files character Dana Scully. The dog was apparently eaten by a Plesiosaur-like creature in the season three episode, "Quagmire".
- Queequeg appeared as an unnamed Weequay in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi #2, which is the four-issue official adaptation of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, published by Marvel Comics.
- Queequeg is one of only two of Jabba's henchmen from the Skirmish at Carkoon incident who were correctly represented in the Marvel Comics Star Wars: Return of the Jedi four-issue comic book adaptation (the other being Vedain), though neither alien was identified by name. In the issue, a close-up of Queequeg's face can be seen as he is standing behind Luke Skywalker just prior to being given the order to push him into the Great Pit of Carkoon.
- Queequeg received a 3¾" action figure from Kenner's Return of the Jedi line in 1983. The action figure is identified as Weeguay.
