The Quatemrass Xperiment is a British science fiction film with elements of the horror genre. It is the first film in the ongoing Quatermass franchise. It was directed by Val Guest and written by Guest and Richard H. Landau. The film was produced by Hammer Film Productions. It was released theatrically in the United Kingdom on September 28th, 1955. It premiered in the United States in June, 1956. The movie stars Brian Donlevy as Professor Bernard Quatermass, Jack Warner as Inspector Lomax, Margia Dean as Mrs. Judith Carroon, Thora Hird as Rosemary "Rosie" Elizabeth Wrigley and David King-Wood as Doctor Gordon Briscoe.
