Provincetown is a town located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. It is a setting featured in the FX Network television series American Horror Story. It was referenced as early as the season two storyline, "Asylum", but became a primary setting for the "Red Tide" storyline from the first half of season ten's "Double Feature".

Provincetown, or P-Town, is a seaside artists' colony that was established back in 1860s. Provincetown relied upon the influx of seasonal visitors during the summer for its financial strength to get them through the winter season. In 1964, Kit Walker married a woman named Alma in Provincetown. Around the mid-2010s, Provincetown suffered from great financial struggle. This coincided with rising cases of addiction, mostly meth amphetamines. In the modern era, the Chief of Police of Provincetown was a woman named Burleson. A scientist who called herself The Chemist, came to Provincetown with an experimental pill designed to enhance a person's innate creative talents. Those who were naturally gifted suddenly found themselves becoming the absolute pinnacle of expertise in their chosen crafts. However, those who took the pill who were not innately talented, de-evolved into bald, twitching flesh phantoms known as "pale people". A side-effect of taking The Chemist's drug, was the development of an insatiable need to consume human blood.
