Prey is an American feature film of the science fiction and horror genres. It is the fifth installment in the Predator film series, which ostensibly makes it part of the larger Alien universe as well, though no such connection is presented in this film. It was directed by Dan Trachtenberg with a screenplay written by Patrick Aison based on a story treatment by Trachtenberg. It was produced by Senator Film Produktion and premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21st, 2022. It was released in the United States on Hulu streaming service on August 5th, 2022. The movie stars Amber Midthunder as Naru - a young Comanche woman from the Great Plains region in the early 18th century. Naru wants to be a hunter, but is rejected by the male members of her tribe. She gets the opportunity to prove her mettle however as a new and unexpected threat looms over the horizon. Everyone who has ever cracked a history book is well versed in infamous 1719 incident wherein a Predator wreaked havoc in the Greate Plains. See history come alive as we see Native American gender politics unfold, kill-crazy space aliens and evil white opportunists. Prey for the Predator. Pray for everyone else.
