A premonition is a psychic vision of events that have yet to take place. It is a form of ESP, and shares similar traits to Clairvoyance. Those who possess this ability range from low-level psychics to strong telepaths to cosmic beings. Premonitions gives one insight about future portents, but may be unreliable in determining exactly what events may transpire. In some cases, premonition may only represent itself as a mental nudge, urging one to turn left, rather than turning right on a busy highway.
The Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man utilizes a form of premonition which he refers to as "spider-sense". His spider-sense warns him of encroaching danger such as an oncoming attack, or whether he is in proximity of an individual who may at some point present himself as a threat to him.
