Predator 2 is an American science-fiction/action film that includes elements of horror. Directed by Stephen Hopkins, it is the first sequel to the 1987 action film Predator and was released theatrically in the United States by 20th Century Fox on November 21st, 1990. The movie is followed by the 2010 film Predators. The setting of Predator 2 is Los Angeles, California in the near-future year of 1997. As violent gang-wars tear the city apart, police lieutenant Mike Harrigan (played by Danny Glover) finds himself on the trail of a string of bizarre and gruesome murders. He soon discovers that the murders are not the work of the Jamaican and Columbian drug cartels that he has been fighting against, but is in fact the handiwork of an alien Predator. Shielding the Predator's actions is a corrupt Federal team led by Peter Keyes (played by Gary Busey) who are aware of the alien's presence and wants to study it for themselves.

- The actual title to this film is Predator 2. However, to distinguish it from the Predator #2 comic book issue published by Dark Horse Comics, this database is electing to use the Predator II naming convention.
- Predator 2 was released to DVD (Region 2) on October 20th, 2004 by Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation. The Region 1 DVD was packaged with the first Predator as a special two-pack on October 17th, 2006.
