Predaliens are an informal slang term used to describe an uncommon hybrid species of Xenomorphs and Yautjas. They are created when a facehugger implants a Xenomorph embryo into the body of a Yautja. After a gestation period of only a few hours, the chestburster emerges and quickly grows to a fully adult "Predalien". The Predalien exhibits some characteristics of its host species, notably larger height, a more bipedal spine, an enlarged cranium, as well as a bifurcated mandible and extra barbed tentacles extending from the back of its skull.
The earliest recorded incident involving a Predalien took place in October, 2004. A Xenomorph facehugger had infected a Yautja named Scar during the Bouveteya Expedition in Antarctica. After the surrounding environs and subterranean temple were destroyed from a Predator self-destruct device, Scar was killed in battle by a Xenomorph queen. His body was taken aboard a Predator mother ship where it hatched the Predalien chestburster. [1] The Predalien slew several members of the ship's crew, causing the vessel to crash-land in Gunnison County, Colorado. From there, the Predalien terrorized the nearby town of Crested Butte and ultimately fought against another Predator known as Wolf. Both the Predator and the Predalien dealt mortal blows to one another, but were ultimately destroyed when the military launched a low-yield nuclear weapon, which destroyed the town. [2]
One such creature appeared during an infestation in San Drad, California. This Predalien was spawned from the "Mad Predator". It died before ever reaching full maturity however as the Mad Predator committed suicide. [3]
In the year 2231, a Predalien hatched on colony world LV-1201. It had burst from the Ancient Predator who had been trying to maintain a stasis field around a nest of Xenomorph eggs. [4]
