Allusions[]
- God's exclamation of "Double rainbow!" is likely a reference to a viral video filmed by Paul Vasquez at Yosemite National Park in January, 2010 in which he excitedly points out the formation of a double rainbow.
- Reference is made to Nurse Ratched in this episode. Nurse Ratched is a fictional character featured in the 1975 film One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, based on the 1962 novel of the same name. The character was played by actress Louise Fletcher. The character is known for her tyrannical and overbearing demeanor towards the patients in her charge, and her name has become a pop culture synonym describing overly cruel health care professionals.
- God takes credit for the invention of Diet Dr Pepper, claiming it as one of his greatest creations. While one should never doubt the word of the Almighty, the Dr Pepper soda brand was actually invented by pharmacist Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas in 1885.
- Proinsias Cassidy is wearing a t-shirt that reads "Nixon. Now More Than Ever". Richard Milhous Nixon was an American politician and former President and Vice President of the United States of America. His years in office are remembered for several noteworthy and controversial events including opening diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China in 1972, orchestrating the ceasefire with North Vietnam in 1973, and the Watergate scandal, which ultimately led to his resignation in August, 1974.
