The Postman is a fictional serial killer as well as a type of werewolf featured on the NBC supernatural fantasy series Grimm. Played by actor Tim Bagley, he appeared in the pilot episode of the series.
Biography[]
The true identity of this seemingly inocuous postal worker is unknown. He is a serial killer and a member of the Wesen subspecies known as a Blutbad. He is allegedly responsible for several unsolved murders that took place at Munson Creek Falls in Portland, Oregon. He later began stalking prey in and around the area of Berkeley Park.
The postman attacked a jogging college student named Sylvie Oster on Sweetbriar Trail. He dismembered her and ate most of the body. He later abducted a young girl named Robin Howell outside her home at 4753 Hildabrand Road and brought her back to his private cabin deep in the woods. He locked her in the cellar with the intent of fattening her up for his next meal. Police detectives Nick Burkhardt and Hank Griffin, along with a reformed Blutbad named Monroe tracked the postman down and exposed him. Hank shot the postman when he attempted to escape and killed him. However, he never saw him in Blutbad form and was unaware that he was anything other than a normal human being.

- The character of Postman was created by Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt.
- The Postman is the first supernatural creature featured on Grimm. He is one of two Blutbaden introduced in the pilot episode; the other being Eddie Monroe.
- German culture often plays heavily into many elements of the show. The postman collected German figurines, one of which he positioned in the forest before murdering Sylvie Oster. He also drove a Volkswagen van, which is a German manufacturer.
- Actor Tim Bagley is also known for playing a mental patient of a slightly less violent character. He played Harold J. Krenshaw, patient of Doctor Charles Kroger and rival to Adrian Monk on the USA Network series Monk.
