Post-Crisis is an unofficial term used to describe a particular publishing era as it relates to comic books published by DC Comics. The term applies to titles, characters, locations and events that were featured in the mainstream continuity of the DC Universe following the publication of the 1985-1986 maxi-series event Crisis on Infinite Earths. The penultimate chapter of this series saw the reconstruction of the internal reality of the series, which effectively cherry-picked desireable elements from previous settings and packaged them into a brand new continuity. Although there have been at least four different limited series bearing the word "Crisis" somewhere in the title, the term Post-Crisis universally relates to the first series, Crisis on Infinite Earths.
