A podracer is a type of fictional vehicle featured in the Star Wars multimedia franchise. They first appeared in the 1999 feature film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, as well as all adapted media.
Podracers were repulsorlift vehicles that employed external engines attached to power couplings. These vehicles were known for speed, and depending upon the model, maneuverability as well. They were used in sporting racing competitions on various planets in the Outer Rim Territories including Malastare and Tatooine.

- Star Wars was created by writer, director and executive producer George Lucas. It first captured the imaginations of movie goers in May, 1977 with its inaugural installment, which has since come to be identified by its full title, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
