Pod people is a generic phrase which refers to individuals who have been imprisoned and/or replaced by extraterrestrial forces and re-inserted back into the general populace. In many instances, the duplicate or cloned individual is birthed from a pod-shaped egg or embryo. Pod people stories are a popular plot device used in films such as Invasion of the Body Snatchers and the television series Invasion.
