"The Trap" is the third episode of season one of the science fiction action television series Planet of the Apes, which is loosely based on the popular 1960s film series produced by Arthur P. Jacobs. The episode was directed by Arnold Laven and written by Edward J. Lakso. It first aired on CBS on Friday, September 27th, 1974.
In this episode, Virdon, Burke and Galen are pursued by General Urko's men into the ruins of an ancient city. An earthquake opens a fissure in the middle of the street, causing Burke and Urko to fall below into an old cavern. To survive, human and ape are forced to work together.
