Planet 51 is an American animated family film of the science fiction and adventure genres. It was co-directed by Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad & Marcos Martínez with a script written by Joe Stillman, based on an original idea by Jorge Blanco, Javier Abad, Marcos Martínez and Ignacio Pérez Dolset. It was presented and distributed through TriStar Pictures, and premiered in Westwood, California on November 14th, 2009. It opened to wide release on November 20th, 2009.
