The Pit Stop is a fictional location featured in comic books published by DC Comics. It is associated with the Justice Society line of titles and first appeared in Stars and S.T.R.I.P.E. #3 in October, 1999.
Description[]
The Pit Stop was a secret basement lair constructed beneath the Dugan residence in Blue Valley, Nebraska. It was developed and operated by Pat Dugan, who used it to house and maintain his S.T.R.I.P.E. armor, as well as a modified and rebuilt version of the Star-Rocket Racer. Above ground access to the Pit Stop could be reached by way of a secret panel in the kitchen, that opened to a set of steps that led down into the basement. A tunnel system was erected that went from the Pit Stop to the front yard underneath a flag pole, which is where Pat Dugan would exit while wearing his armor.

Notes & Trivia[]
- The Pit Stop also made appearances in the Stargirl live-action television series. In the show, the Pit Stop was a mechanics' garage and a separate location from that of the Whitmore residence, whereas in the comics, the Pit Stop was the basement of the family home.
- A similar location to the Pit Stop is the Pemberton garage, which was part of the Pemberton estate in the 1940s. Pat Dugan and Sylvester Pemberton used this garage as their base-of-operations from which they could monitor local crime statistics via a transistor radio.
