The Pipeline is a fictional organization featured in comic book titles published by DC Comics. It played a major role in the Superman family of comic books during the 1990s.
Description & History[]
The Pipeline was a freelance intelligence agency headed up by a former C.I.A. operative named Kenny Braverman. Outfitted with extensive resources, it had facilities located all throughout the Metropolis area and even extended as far west as Braverman's home town of Smallville, Kansas. The mentally unstable Braverman used the Pipeline to carry out his vendetta against Clark Kent, aka Superman.
Braverman was not content with merely destroying Kent. He wanted to get to him by targeting those he loved. He used the Pipeline facilities to destroy the Kent family farm and even sent operatives out to assassinate Clark's closest friends, Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane. Through the Pipeline, Kenny Braverman recruited the cyborg Metallo, and upgraded his components with a geo-magnet that made him even more durable than before. [1]
Following the death of Kenny Braverman, the Pipeline closed down. [2]
