Picons are a fictional alien race featured in the Battlestar Galactica television franchise. They were initially presented in the original 1978-1979 Battlestar Galactica television series. The race was also featured in the Battlestar Galactica comic book series by Marvel Comics as well as its subsequent spin-off media. Picons were re-imagined for the 2003 Battlestar Galactica miniseries in 2003 as well as the regular TV series that followed in 2004.
Description[]
Picons are humanoids who hail from the colony world known as Picon. They are one of the Twelve Colonies and bear a biological connection to humans from Earth, suggesting a shared racial lineage. Physically, Picons are indistinguishable form any other Colony world's citizens or from Earthlings.

- The Encyclopedia Galactica: From the Fleet Library aboard the Battlestar Galactica, published by Windmill Books and E.P. Dutton in 1979 establishes that Baltar is of the Picon race. Baltar's background and home colony was never explored in the original television series.
