Photon is a fictional alien and a minor recurring character featured in comic books published by Marvel Comics. She is associated with the Guardians of the Galaxy line of titles and first appeared in Guardians of the Galaxy #3 in August, 1990.
Biography[]
Photon was a female member of the Centaurian race who belonged to a tribe that worshipped the god known as Anthos. Photon was born a mutant, which was seen as an aberation by her people, who came to regard her as a "kavkov", or demon. Photon's mother fled with her child into the forest to escape persecution, but died of illness soon after. Photon was rescued by a being known as Interface, who carried the legendary shield of Earth hero Captain America.
