Peter Menlove is a fictional boat captain and a minor character featured in the Blackgas family of comic book titles published by Avatar Press. He first appeared in Blackgas #1 in January, 2006.
Biography[]
Peter Menlove lived in the town of Footstep on Smoky Island. He owned a boat and would travel between the island to the East coast of the United States. Peter brought Tyler and his girlfriend Soo Park from the mainland over to the island.
Shortly thereafter, a long-dormant volcano dubbed "The Bulge" erupted, projecting pressurized black gas from underground into the air. The winds blew the black gas across the island, and those exposed to it turned into murderous, cannibalistic lunatics. Peter Menlove was one of those infected by the black gas. However, because he was highly intoxicated at the point of exposure, he was able to stave off some of its effects for a short amount of time. Ultimately however, he gave in to his violent urges. Soo Park put him down by beating him with a baseball bat. He was then disemboweled by other infected.
