The Perron family are a fictionalized version of an actual family that existed in real life. In 1971, Roger & Carolyn Perron and their five daughters relocated into a large farmhouse located in Harrisville, Rhode Island. The family is tormented by a malevolent spirit of an old witch named Bathsheba Sherman, which prompts Carolyn to seek the aid of a husband and wife team of demonologists, Ed and Lorraine Warren.
