The Peregainators Club is a fictional social club featured in the Batman multimedia franchise. It appeared in the seventh episode of season one of Batman: The Animated Series titled "Joker's Favor". The Peregainators Club was located in Gotham City and was a museum and a convention hall. It included several different wings including a Hall of Inventions, and a wing devoted to ancient cultures, replicated to such authenticity, that it even included actual lethal traps such as poison-tipped darts that fired from the walls and revolving floor panels that dropped down into a pit of flame jets.
Gotham hosted a special dinner commemorating the work of police commissioner James Gordon at the Peregainators Club. The Joker, believing that he should be the only man honored for his work in Gotham, decided to crash the party, along with his new accomplice Harley Quinn. Harley disguised herself as a police woman, and wheeled in a giant cake. A special immobilizing gas was emitted keeping all of the police officers in attendance frozen in place. The Joker burst out of the cake and planted a bomb on Commissioner Gordon. One of the Joker's unwilling cohorts, Charlie Collins, managed to signal the Batman, who arrived just in time to get rid of the bomb.
Batman chased the Joker through the club, ultimately pursuing him through a hall of ancient traps. The Joker activated a wall that released poison darts, then tried to fry Batman with flame jets from another trap, as well as a rotating floor panel. Batman evaded all of these dangers, and managed to catch up with the Joker outside the club, who was then subdued by Charlie Collins, who mustered up the courage to turn on him.
Notes[]
- Peregaintors Club is actually a mis-spelling of Peregrinator's Club, which is a similar club featured in DC Comics titles. However, in the cartoon, the location is identified as "Peregainator's Club".
