Biography[]

Paul Rodman was a private pilot who owned a seaplane. Defense Department Intelligence agent Matthew Cable hired Paul to fly him to the Balkans in Southeast Europe in pursuit of the Swamp Thing, whom Matt believed had murdered his friends Alec and Linda Holland.

Paul flew Matt to the tiny Balkan village where he had tracked the Swamp Thing down. On the return trip, Matthew brought with him one of the villagers, Abigail Arcane. Paul had no idea that as they took off, the Swamp Thing had hitched a ride atop one of the plane's pontoons.

As they flew, they passed through a heavy storm and Paul did his best to keep the plane from bucking against the wind. He took note of a string of lights on the moors of Scotland and angled the plane for land. The plane was built for a water landing, and it crashed on the moors. Everyone survived and they were discovered by two locals, Angus and Jenna MacCobb. They were brought back to the MacCobb's family estate and nursed back to health.

Later, Paul went for a walk out near the moors and heard the sounds of a terrifying creature approaching him. As he turned around, a werewolf appeared and mauled Paul to death. Matt and Abigail heard his death cries from inside the castle and came out to discover his body. Matt remarked that his injuries looked as if they were made by a wild dog, but Angus knew that it was something far more sinister. The werewolf was in fact Angus and Jenna's son, Ian MacCobb, who died a short time later while fighting the Swamp Thing. [1]
