Paul is a fictional miner and a recurring minor character on the Syfy television series Defiance. Played by actor Wayne Curnew, he was introduced in the two-part pilot episode of the series and is credited in eleven episodes from season one. He is generally credited as McCawley miner #5.
History[]
Paul is a resident of the city-state of Defiance in the mid-21st century. As with many of the human settlers of the town, he is employed as a miner for Rafe McCawley at the McCawley Mines. Paul is one of the regularly seen townies that appears now and again at certain functions and/or events. He was present when recently appointed mayor Amanda Rosewater gave an inspiring speech to rally the townsfolk together on the eve of the Battle of the Bissel Pass. He was one of the men charged with quarantining the resident Irathient population when the Irathient Plague broke out. He was present at the NeedWant during the wake of former mayor Nicolette Riordon and he was present when it was announced that Datak Tarr would become the newly-elected mayor of Defiance, replacing Amanda Rosewater.
