A parapsychologist is one who studies the science of parapsychology. In particular, they research and develop theories relating to unexplained phenomena. On the Canadian TV series Beyond Reality, university scientists Laura Wingate and J.J. Stillman worked as parapsychologists. On the FOX Network television series The X-Files, FBI agent Fox Mulder had a strong working knowledge of parapsychology.
