History[]
When the Atlanteans of Ancient Atlantis arrived in the Savage Land, they decided to make this unspoiled land part of their empire. They found the Nuwali technology that sustains the Savage Land and keeps it as a tropical paradise. Atlanteans made considerable improvements in the machinery and extended its range to cover certain areas of the surface beyond the Savage Land. The scientists used other technological devices left behind by the Nuwali to create means of amusement for the Atlantean people. The Atlanteans soon named their Antarctic colony "Pangea" after their word for "paradise.” and start building cities and taking advantage of the alien technology.
The Atlantean scientists decided to use the technology for genetic engineering, experimenting upon Man-Apes. From this the Atlanteans genetically altered the bodies of the Beast-Men into bird-people the Aerians, monkey-people the Tree People, fish-people the Tubanti, and other animal-like races. The Atlanteans initially used these animal-people as slaves in the Pangean amusement center.
