Pacific Rim: Uprising is an American feature film of the science fiction and action genres with an emphasis on the giant robot and giant monster subgenres of sci-fi. It is the sequel to the 2013 film Pacific Rim. It was directed by Steven S. DeKnight with a screenplay written by DeKnight, T.S. Nowlin, Emily Carmichael and Kira Snyder. The movie was produced by Double Dare You studio and Legendary Entertainment and distributed through Universal Pictures. It premiered internationally on March 21st, 2018. It opened in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom on March 23rd, 2018.
