"The Devil of Winterborne" is a television film of the science fiction genre, and the second of such films in the P.R.O.B.E. series of telemovies produced by Bill & Ben Video. The series is a spin-off of the science fiction TV program Doctor Who. This one hour movie was directed by Bill Baggs with a teleplay written by Mark Gatiss. It premiered in January, 1995.
Plot[]
When P.R.O.B.E. is summoned to investigate the savage murder of a retired headmaster, Liz Shaw is disturbed to find evidence of satanic rite near the scene of the crime.
She soon discovers a web of deceit and corruption that extends back in time, threatening the current occupants of nearby Winterborne School.
With P.R.O.B.E. under threat from within and the death toll mounting, Liz finds herself under increasing pressure from all sides to produce results...
The Devil of Winterborne is at large and only Liz can stop it!

- The title of the franchise is the name of the main organization of the series. It is an acronym which stands for Preternatural Research Bureau (who knows where the O comes from).
